Dejawu Custom Handmade Guitars
Hi everyone!
Today is a random day of the week, which means it is time for another Dejawu Blog! In last week’s post, we explained a bit more about ourselves, who we are and what we stand for. This week, we would like to tell you all about our guitars. Let’s be honest, there can never be to much guitar talk!
At Dejawu Guitars, it is our ultimate goal to provide you with the perfect guitar, completely fitted to your personal liking. If you are looking for an outstanding and truly unique guitar with a story, that is made for a lifetime of more storytelling, you are definitely at the right address with us!
Dejawu Guitars distinguish themselves from other guitars in a number of ways. First and foremost, all our guitars are individually handcrafted and many hours of love and dedication goes into making them. All production processes are carried out by hand using traditional tools and construction methods. Only three years ago a band saw was purchased. From start to finish, building a guitar can take up to six months(!). Since we are determined to deliver outstanding quality to each and every customer, we take the time that is needed to build something truly good. Besides building guitars being a very labor intensive job, we also highly value paying attention to detail. The bodies and necks of our guitars are completely hand carved out of solid tone woods, such as flame maple, mahogany or spruce. Inside the body, our guitars have special design features that Dongming personally developed for sound optimization. The necks have an ebony fingerboard to guarantee smooth playing. The guitars we have in stock at the moment do not have inlays on the neck. Instead, little dots on the sides of the neck help you orientate. Also, we only use high quality hardware and electronics. All guitars are standard equipped with Häussel* pickups and Schaller* hardware. Should you be interested in customizing your own guitar, of course, the call is yours on all the details and features of the guitar!
At the moment, we focus on semi-acoustic guitars and archtops and we offer three different basic models. The T-Ultimate, the E-Special and the Jazz. The latter comes in different sizes and variants.
Meet the E-special
Tailpiece Gold
The semi-hollow body and neck of the Dejawu E-Special are hand carved from solid flame maple and/or mahogany and trimmed with a seven-ply binding.
The nitro-cellulose lacquer is hand polished, receiving careful attention to highlight the individual character and ensuring a striking depth and clarity.
The 25" scale has 22 frets. String height is adjustable on the Schaller roller bridge that enables precise intonation as well as comfortable string-spacing and a very good sustain.
The gold or nickel Schaller hardware gives the guitar a distinguished look. A six position Free-Way 3x3-05* toggle switch allows many wirings options like humbucker/single coil and out of phase sounds at your finger tips.
It is our goal to provide you with the perfect guitar, completely customized to your personal liking. Different choices of wood, colors and hardware (and combinations thereof) are therefore available on demand. Should you have any special requests, please let us know. We love to think along with you! In fact, there are simply too many options to capture in an order form. That is why we always make sure to discuss your options and wishes with you personally before actually placing an order and we’ll make sure you are completely satisfied with your choices. A personal appointment is completely without obligation and/or costs, so please feel free! On our website, we have created a Guitar Gallery for you to get a better impression of the guitars we are able to make, and to get some inspiration on what you like. As for the hardware, you can check out (for example) the brochures of Häussel and Schaller.

Of course, being musicians ourselves, we totally understand that in order to buy a guitar, one has to be able to see, hear, smell, feel and play it. That is why we have different models, in different wood types and colors in stock at the moment. You can find our models and their specifications under Available Now on our website. If you wish you see them IRL, please don’t hesitate to drop us a message. You are more than welcome to come and try. On Saturday the 21st of September (Yes, that is this weekend!), you can find us at Vintage Veenendaal, and on 27-28-29 September we’re present at the Guitar Summit in Mannheim for the entire weekend!!
